Since the ACOCF is a ministry, sometimes we may have to deviate from our schedule of House Worship on Sunday morning to give a guest sermon to discuss our work, or to help fill a pulpit if their minister is ill, etc. This helps extend our work and promotes good will. But whenever we're absent from House Worship, we must do whatever we can to grow spiritually. Consequently, starting in April, whenever there is such a deviation from our schedule, we will have a Saturday evening Bible Study, Praise, and Holy Communion at Allen's house!
The meeting with the elders of the Culver-Palms church went well last week with Loan, Allen, Mai, and Chen presenting. We're just waiting their decision regarding our request. Please pray that His will be done.
A wonderful idea came from Dr. David Davenport (former President of Pepperdine) in his Sunday School class at Culver-Palms. Each week he takes a news item reported in a newspaper, magazine, etc. and discusses it in the light of Holy Scripture for the modern Christian. I would like to try that sometimes with our Sat. or Sunday Bible classes. If you have any news item or clipping you would like to see discussed at a future meeting, please send a copy to us.
Tomorrow, Sunday, 3/25, Allen will be giving the sermon and Bible lesson at the Coastline Church of Christ and Chen will be doing the song-leading! (The worship service starts at 9:00 a.m.; coffee and donuts at 10:15 a.m.; Bible class at 10:30 a.m.; 1121 Lomita Blvd, Harbor City, CA 90710). We rejoice with them that they were able to locate and hire a new minister (I didn't catch his name, but he's from Pennslyvania). Allen was asked to help out tomorrow until the arrival of their new minister. If you need a ride to Coastline, please contact us.
God bless, and stay strong in the Lord!
