A Change in Venue, but a Wonderful Lesson!
Worship on 4/1 was held at the home of Daniel and Sue-Ann since Qi Sun became ill and was not able to host the House Worship. Allen gave a good, informative lesson on the teachings of the Bible and the ancient church on Saturday night (1st day of the week) worship. On such short notice, we were pleased to have 9 in attendance and a prayer service for Mai's family, Qi's health, Tiffany's college plans, and Ray Green's upcoming heart by-pass surgery.

SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE!!
Since the ACOCF is a ministry, sometimes we may have to deviate from our schedule of House Worship on Sunday morning to give a guest sermon to discuss our work, or to help fill a pulpit if their minister is ill, etc. This helps extend our work and promotes good will. But whenever we're absent from House Worship, we must do whatever we can to grow spiritually. Consequently, starting in April, whenever there is such a deviation from our schedule, we will have a Saturday evening Bible Study, Praise, and Holy Communion at Allen's house!
The meeting with the elders of the Culver-Palms church went well last week with Loan, Allen, Mai, and Chen presenting. We're just waiting their decision regarding our request. Please pray that His will be done.
A wonderful idea came from Dr. David Davenport (former President of Pepperdine) in his Sunday School class at Culver-Palms. Each week he takes a news item reported in a newspaper, magazine, etc. and discusses it in the light of Holy Scripture for the modern Christian. I would like to try that sometimes with our Sat. or Sunday Bible classes. If you have any news item or clipping you would like to see discussed at a future meeting, please send a copy to us.
Tomorrow, Sunday, 3/25, Allen will be giving the sermon and Bible lesson at the Coastline Church of Christ and Chen will be doing the song-leading! (The worship service starts at 9:00 a.m.; coffee and donuts at 10:15 a.m.; Bible class at 10:30 a.m.; 1121 Lomita Blvd, Harbor City, CA 90710). We rejoice with them that they were able to locate and hire a new minister (I didn't catch his name, but he's from Pennslyvania). Allen was asked to help out tomorrow until the arrival of their new minister. If you need a ride to Coastline, please contact us.
God bless, and stay strong in the Lord!

Warm Welcome at Coastline; Important Meeting at Culver-Palms
Last Sunday, 3/11, Chen, May, Judy Jones (missionary to Vietnam), Loan & Allen rcvd a warm welcome by the Coastline Church of Christ (Torrance) and praises for the lesson and sermon presented. They invited Allen to come back and to give another guest sermon on Sunday, 3/25 (services at 9:00 a.m.; Bible class at 10:30 a.m.; 1121 Lomita Blvd Harbor City, CA 90710). They expressed full support for our effort to creatively reach out to the Asians in Southern California!
Tomorrow, Sunday, 3/18, we will have an important meeting with the elders of the Culver-Palms Church of Christ to discuss sponsorship. Pray for us! They are located at 9733 Venice Blvd., Los Angeles 90034; Bible Class 9:00 a.m., Coffee & Donuts 9:55 a.m., Worship 10:15 a.m.
Although we have not had a House Worship for awhile, the meetings we've been having with other congregations are very important and necessary for our future work.

Busy Week!
I've been at the L.A. Arboretum! Whew, that was tiresome. Loan picked up a friend at LAX, Judy Jones, a former missionary to Vietnam, and Timothy is picking up Julie who is returning from a medical mission trip to Nicaragua. I'll be giving a sermon at the Coastline Church of Christ in Torrance tomorrow (1121 Lomita Blvd Harbor City, CA 90710) entitled, "Vampirism in the Spiritual World Today and Victory Through the Cross!" It'll be different than one I've given before since I'll be using a lot of overhead projections to make the message clear! Services start at 9:00 a.m. with Bible class to follow afterwards.

PRAYER REQUEST & PLANS FOR SUNDAY, MARCH 4
Daniel suggested that Allen follow-up our contacts with the Culver-Palms Church of Christ (Mark Manassee, Senior Minister, and elders Ron Lau and Fred Ricker) with a visit to their congregation this Sunday, 3/4 (9733 Venice Blvd., Los Angeles 90034; Bible Class 9:00 a.m., Coffee & Donuts 9:55 a.m., Worship 10:15 a.m.) re: sponsorship. Qi & Su and Chen and others indicated they will likely visit as well (their Mandarin-speaking and English-speaking worships are held at the same time in different worship halls).
Prayer request: Julie left Sat. morning with a mission team from Pepperdine to the Iglesio de Cristo in Nicaragua to spend a week doing various works helping with their orphanage. Please remember them in your prayers for their safety and fruitful endeavor in serving our Lord and Savior, Jesus!
