Today we had Daniel, Peony, May, Allen, Theresa, Daphne, Jackie, James, Karen, Rong and his dad attend the wonderful presentation by Dr. Harrub at the Yorba Linda Church of Christ! Dr. Harrub gave some persuasive arguments for the existence of God. Either the universe
(1) is eternal (i.e., it was not created); or
(2) it is not eternal, it created itself; or
(3) it is not eternal, it had to be created by some force external or greater than what's contained in the natural universe itself (it is "supernatural", i.e., God).
Dr. Harrub pointed out evidences from astronomy, oceanography, and biology to demonstrate that proposition #3 is the only logical, reasonable, and scientific position to hold. Then he pointed out a number of scientific truths that is found in the Bible that could only have found its way into the Bible if a true, living God actually directed the prophets and apostles to write as the Bible claims. Why? Because in ancient times these scientific truths were not known...waiting thousands of years before man in recent centuries "discovered" them! More on this later!
